World's Fastest Piling System

It's a BIG STATEMENT, sure is but AFTER 21 YEARS of refining the TECHNOLOGY we STAND to be CHALLENGED or PROVEN OTHERWISE.

                                                                    Retaining Wall Screwpile Foundations

A well know Perth builder needed a rapid response to a urgent problem. They has taken over a unit development from the Receivers Managers of a recently failed major Perth building company and a 2.0m high mass limestone block boundary retaining wall needed to be constructed on the sites rear boundary over an area that had artesian waterways running under through organic (peat) sandy soils. Construction of the retaining wall needed to happen urgently to meet an agreed final drawdown timetable and time was of the essence.

                                                                   Retaining Wall Screwpile Foundations

Our engineers at Foundation Engineering Consulting quickly designed and provided drawings of the retaining walls piled footing beam solution. A total of 36 x 4.0m deep screw piles were specified due to the assumed presence of variable poor soils, a high water table. No detailed geotechnical information for the location was available.

Manufacturing was prioritised and installation occurred within days and the 36 screw piles were installed in just 1 day. Everything was done in under 1 week. The following image highlights the artesian water table level.

A highlight of the installation was at pile 6 locations, where install torques did not achieve the specified minimum due to the presence of loose sandy soils beyond the 4.0m embedment depth. Screwpile responded quickly by bolt splicing 3.5m long pile shaft extensions to these piles and final torques confirmed good bearing capacity. An important note is: Had concrete bored piles been installed these 6 piles would have insufficient bearing capacity and future foundation settlement would have been likely. Only accurately monitored screw pile installation provides a failsafe ultimate check of soil bearing capacity. Our expertise and QA system once again ensured complete and rapid project success.
